My connection really has been brilliant the last 2 races. Updates in few seconds.

If legs are back to normal after sat race I will join you guys again next tue but this time at a decent pace!

Did anyone else have the same problem last night?

After the start i could see the other participants but after a few minutes something happened and only my "icon" showed on the race route view. I tried both the desk top app view and from the virtual training login.

I am sick, so thought I would watch you guys race. Could not see your positions, only gave updates every few minutes of speed, power, that sort of stuff.

I wonder, seeing that almost everyone had these types of problems, could it be the network providers throttling the data as it was the last day of the month?

My gut feel it was not the networks but rather something within the online racing function.

Can you watch a race if you have not entered, or did u enter anyway?

No, I did not enter. To watch the race, you follow the exact same steps as when you want to enter the race. Next to the race you will see a magnifying glass. Click it and you can watch.

Have you seen a webcam function, i'm sure i saw it somewhere in the entering process... wonder if it means that participants with web cams can actual check how much sweat or face pulling is being generated by the others?

When you enter the race, on the way to the start line, the webcam option pops up. No way in hell will I activate that. The pain on my face while I push out my measly 120 watts will have you all rolling around laughing.

Anybody with a Garmin Virb? or other gadget???

we need to record the big races on race day.

then we can ride the big races the week after the actual race?

Argus ; Amashova ;  94.7

Saw some of these races on the internet routes, but none with video.

I missed out this year on an Argus entry

think it will be nice if we can have our own "Argus" the week after that - with same race video??

and Amasova

and 94.7

I think Dave did a 94.7, not the full route, about 60 odd kms. Battery life is the problem. The Virb's battery lasts about 2 hours, so a battery change will be needed, else a battery pack connected to the Virb or Gopro.

You also need someone who is reasonably fast as the longer you take, so the video file size increases. A 5 hour video file will be a nightmare to work with when editing compared to a 3 hour one.

I like your idea.

Tablet battery life may also be an issue - we tested the 94.7 route and the tablet lasted only just over half the ride...
