Just need confirmation please: to score points for the career you must do a route and the workouts don't count?

No, you score points for any workout (free ride, route, workout, race etc....) that uses power and is uploaded onto your training dairy. The points are calculated by multiplying the rides TSS x 20%, for example: if you do a ride and your TSS was 100 then you get 20 points for that activity.

Thanks, wasn't sure when I read the faq. Did the FTP in Dec and haven't been on the trainer since so though I would give it a go this morning. Did a workout but didn't change my points. Maybe it takes a while to update.

I'm not sure how long it takes, will check now as I'm just going to start a ride.

I once saw a ride that did not update after a few days (the FTP test in the beginning) even though it showed on my training diary...after contacting tech support they updated it... Luckily

I'm not even a novice yet so no loss! Will then just do routes if requires. No challenges loaded for March though else try to do the hub races ...

I'm on amateur level now which so far feels easier than registered and novice, those first 2 levels concentrated on challenges which all involved major climbs.... Found it difficult. It pays to start the challenges as soon as they begin and halfway through the month or challenge period so u have enough time to recover.

Well then you better not peak into the required routes for elite. You have to finish a few major passes. Must be a bitch of note on the trainer

Well at this stage I am still amateur and struggle to do my required 4572m of climbing in 1 week......

Damn! I barely managed to get the 4500m climb challenge on Strava this month, and that is over a full month. To do it in a week on the trainer would probably mean doing an HC climb every day, 5 days in a row.

It's crazy, not my idea of sensible training

I suppose they have to make it challenging to reach the next level

Sis a quick route (shortest I could find!) to test if it scores points despite the route not being created by the CycleOps guys.

Although the completed rise shows in the activities tab, the rise itself sync status shows "waiting for confirmation to upload data". I have tried with wifi as well as cellular. Is there a way to force or restart the upload / sync?

My TSS was only 47 but the 9 points will nearly make me a newbie [emoji106][emoji23]

Not sure about the reload, on the desktop app there is an option to upload again if the automatic default upload at the end of a ride was unsuccessful.

Where did u see the actual points (9) or did u just work that out yourself? After we last spoke about it i checked after a free ride and could see my points increased in that the progress bar in my current career level increased...but could not find the actual points total anywhere?

Just guessing that 47 * 20/100 will give me 9 points! Saw on their support page there is an issue with iOS uploads so it should sort itself out.

Sooo anyone figured out a clever way to do this 4572m ascent in one week yet on cycleops career thing?

I thought of using the next new challenge (giro climbs starting in 2 days) and doing trying to do 4 of the 5 climbs that will get 4572m or more in the one week...BUT hell i don't know if that's a good idea for my knee's...i swear they are already aching just thinking about it.

What other easier climbs are there that can be done in one week...?

There are 3 routes i did almost daily to add up the climbing. Lunkily i do mtb'ing as well so on the sat & sun i made up about 3000m of the accumulation.

I am in elite now and the 5 odd compulsory rides i am not looking forward to. 1 of them are like 65km long with more than 1800m of climbing
