Cam lever upgrade is R295

In Durbz...

Will be in JHB again in a few weeks so will pop by you guys with the trainer to have a look at it. Its working fine for intervals so good enough for now, just the routes that are a problem.

Guess we will see you when you up in JHB then.

Come have a coffee whilst we fit a Clutch knob onto your trainer :-)

Jaco-fiets, I had the same problem with mine from the start. If i had to fault the power beam, this is were it can cause frustration.

I found the following helps:

 - use indoor training specific tyre. think the harder compound and not using on the road does help.

 - clean the roller and tyre before use. Used a wet cloth on the tyre and made sure the rotating drum was clean. Dust/dirt and oil from the roads made it slip MORE.

 - I notice that the locking mechanism can be pulled up or pushed down before tightening (a few mm play up or down). Try both ways to see if you get better grip.

 - I found between 6 to 7 bar was the best for me.

I eventually took the system to Bicycle Power and they managed to replace the metal drum, which did make a difference...

Either way, try these tricks or call Bicycle Power. Sure they will help you. Excellent service!

I agree with cleaning the wheel and drum properly with a damp cloth after you've used the same wheel outside, that solved most of my issues.

Another tip, when you do intervals (not changing gears as per the downloaded routes), use the big chainring on the front and somewhere in the middel or lower region at the back, you can still do the same cadence on whichever gear you are as the trainer adjusts accordingly.  This eliminated most slippage issues and you will find that the power indicated for your powerbeam and that on your bike's powermeter is much closer to each other (I find that there is a slight difference of about 20-30W between the two but using the gear ratio as mentioned above this difference reduces).

Much better with the new tyre. At least I can reach 6% gradients now with eaze. Thanks guys

My Joy was short lived.....just 2 rides to be exact and trainer is *** again. Is it possible to claim this under home contents? Well I'm trying anyway and then buying something decent (not the powerbeam/powersync)

the CVT software also seems to be a bit of a hit n miss.

Tried downloading 2 different video's, they get to 99% then fail...

Just going to use the trainer for intervals via trainerroad and forget about all the virtual software stuff.

Yip! They really going backwards fast. On top of all the crap I have had with the software (and trainer) the software started kicking me off during sessions as well

Must say its been a while since I had any issues with the software, other than every so often the calibration getting stuck or something.

I have not used videos on the tablet though, only on the desktop version.

Was hoping to join tonight, but a meeting went way longer than I had hoped :(
