Yet another "Which bike should i get" thread.I am about to buy my first bicycle in a very long time.There are so many options out there.Wheel sizes, different components, new vs second hand, its all very confusing.I am not a pro rider and it will be my first time on a bike in about 10 years so i don't need pro equipment, but i also don't want to buy rubbish.I would like do some road and trails.To my surprise i found 2 bikes at the Sportmans Warehouse which seem good and are end of line so discounted quite a bit. I cant find any reviews online for them and im hoping the more qualified people on this forum to guide me into a good decision. nonky Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 go with the Schwinn...even better, or shop around for a 2nd-hand bike on the hub. R5k will buy you a LOT 2nd-hand (in 26' wheel size).
Heckers Posted June 27, 2014 Author Posted June 27, 2014 Thanks for the feedback.Any reason why you would recommend the Schwinn?After reading up a lot it seems like the components are kind of similar on both bikes.The Schwinn does have extra bling like a remote lockout for the fork. Is that something useful to have or a gimmick? I have been checking the classifieds but haven't found anything decent close to me. Plus buying new just gives a bit more peace of mind.
