Who was the Pro today?. I did not make it - sorry. Urgent work stuff. @PowerTap: the huge benefit of this is that there will now be lots of VirtualPartners to train with. Maybe consider making the race over a 24h period - times will stand and those that miss out can catch up later at night.

i like this idea, hopefully in August we can have another kind of challenge and this would well be it.

but man alive i don't think my legs can take much of this 300w ave for 40+ min, feeling rather shattered at the moment and will be looking forward to a nice recover ride tomorrow on the IDT, i will make sure to find a route with lots and lots of down hills.

Ok some feedback on the IOS app. Not running the latest IOS, so no crash.

1.There is quite some lag in loading the virtual races on the ipad once you select the virtual racing tab....one has to wait about about 4-5 minutes before they come up in the screen so you have to be on your bike at least 20 minutes before the start to allow for this loading and calibration....not a train smash but would be nice if the response was slightly quicker.

2.There is still some lag in the feedback from other racers whilst racing....your own metrics are realtime and updates on the fly. Other peoples positions on the course comes and goes every 2-3 minutes and then stands still. This never happened to me before on virtual partners or other races(the race where my data ran out was perfect, but we were 4 participants...there everyones positions and metrics got updates every second and the simulation worked perfectly)...only the last two races(hubcup and cyclops cup) where there more than 5 participants which leads me to believe that this is where the bug lies. Dips and myself are going to test this theory where I will create a race just for me and him and see if the lag dissapears.

3.When I completed the course....it said disconnecting from race, however it just stayed almost frozen in this state for 5 minutes or so. Its like the whole app froze. My data, time and results were all uploaded though.

These are minor bugs and the only faults I can find....still great humor to participate. If I can have a wishlist of just one fix it would be the lag between other peoples time and positions, point number 2...this will enhance the experience so much and like I said it used to work perfectly in races with less participants....when other people's positions are live wrt to yours it makes the racing exciting.

Thanks for this great initiative Dave....awesome stuff

maybe we should move up the next race :whistling: :whistling:

Well you the reason they are poked....I knew you were on my wheel so I couldnt have even a 1 minute rest at 190W then you would have me...

nope sorry when using the PowerBeam its designed to work with the gears you have on the bike, as i am sure you found out you may have been a little under geared with the 32 at the front?? :whistling:

Hi,

I'm on the IC400 not the PowerBeam. Set up my gearing a while back to be the same as my 1x11... tried to stay with you guys in the first minutes yesterday but had nearly zero resistance... Will try and sort it out before the next one!

Any advice on how to set the gearing. Thought I still had the PC software but unfortunately not.

log into your account on CVT online then select account settings, scroll down to edit virtual bike then edit the gears from there.
