I assume it's a small field so everyone starts at the same time?Apparently they are averaging 750 riders per year,according to their info.

Hey Kosmo, at least we will now be two Dales at Magoebaskloof. Looking forward to seeing your 650B.

 

I will probably be keeping the grim sweeper company towards the blunt end of the race, so yea sure  will see you on-route, the Red Flasher with me myself and I for company (Bruce)

I noticed a small crack on my frame this weekend, so lets hope cannondale can sort me out before the weekend.  Im not going to be a happy camper if I miss out on this one....... HOLDING THUMPS

.......not only there, but also the 20km stretch before you reach P-Burg (Polokwane) and definitely the stretch of road leading up to Moria (80-100-120km/h stretches).....rather stick to the speed limits on the R71 towards Haenertsburg.

Hey Barhugger I was being rather cryptic here so here are the facts. The Magoebaskloof hotel was nearly put out of business thanks to a fire some years back but the rebuilt it but the iconic thatched roof is gone forever. As for the heavy stuff Tolkien is purported to have been inspired to write the Lord of the rings after spending some time in the indigenous forests of Magoebaskloof. Hence the reference to greats feats and lore but do not forget the Legend of Mojadji, the rain queen. Hopefully she'll keep her talents at bay until after the ride!

Pity the Hotel lost it's ambiance ( not bad for a boertjie ) after the great fire.
