Garmin's latest Speed and Cadence sensors are designed to work individually or together, and without any magnets to line up or a shared communication house, installation is as quick and simple as possible. Users have the option to utilize both the Speed and Cadence, or install only 1 of the accessories, if desired. Cadence is measured using an Accelerometer in the sensor, which communicates directly from the pedal to compatible Garmin products, and the self-calibrating Speed sensor, which uses Magnetometers, mounts directly onto the bikes hub and communicated directly to the Garmin device.

Does garmin have one of these that fits into the frame of the giant TCR? Like the giant ride sense unit?

Nope. Even though ANT+ is generic, the design of the unit for the TCR is proprietary.

DC Rainmaker had a good review. I will be getting a speed sensor quite soon and will report back on how well it works or not

If you have a Garmin, why do you want a speed sensor?

Unless training indoors of course.

The Edge 200 IS a gps!

How do you think it works if you can not add HR, speed, cadence or any accessories?

Exactly for the rollers indoors.........

And the new sensor will work smart as I only need to attach it to the training wheels and when racing I won't have to take of (Weight weenie) and remount again.
