ok, i took the headset apart, and it seems the crown and lower bearing does not quite meet up properly.

The angles od the crown race and the bearing race does not properly meet up.

if pressure is applied to the bearing, it slips off the race, then sits unaligned. This is then causing the mis-alignement and scraping sound when turning the handlebars.

Is assume the lower bearing is not 100% correct.

or the crown race is not the right one.

Are the top and bottom brarings the same?

Looking at the pics in the onone website the bottom bearing should have a 45 degree edgebon thebinside of the bottom to mate with the crown

Sorted the problem out.

It's difficult to explain, but the inside of the steerer tube rubbed agains the inside part of the lower bearing race, I smoothed it down a little, and problem solved. Did extensive testing over the weekend, and it's all good.
