It is done! After 2 years of accumulating parts via on-line bargains, Hub classifieds etc

Hope Race x2 brakes

American Classic Wide Lightning wheels

Cannondale Hollowgram SiSL crank, with a CarbonTi 36 blade

This is my Custom Rocky

Once a 2003 Rocky Mountain Stratos but now a Cross between a Road and MTB.

Built it only to do a few road races. Did the 94.7 in 2015 and the Ride for Sight and the Cape Town Cycle Tour in 2016.

Which model is this exactly?

It's bloody hot!!!

sorry for that, all her specs....

2012 Altitude 970

1x9 XT dual shifters (hated by most, loved so much by me I went from 10 speed to 9 to keep them)

XT rd,

Xt brakes with 180mm XT rotors (one of the changes I want to make, just for "pimping" purposes)

29" Crank Brothers Iodine 3 wheels

34 single Kitted chain ring (local manufacturer, love it)

shock & fork as stock FOX float fork is 34mm, both 120mm travel

Easton EA 90 riser bar and EA 70 seat post & stem, also on my "to pimp" list..

lovely ride, and actually surprisingly fast and super capable!

joined the club. bike bought off the hub, first ride over the weekend - goes like stink

attachicon.gifrm.jpg

I bought this bike without thinking properly.

It was cheap at the price and I intended getting a duallie frame and moving all the rad parts over.

I never got that far. it just goes!

I did a 550km Adventure race on it last week, carbon hardtail, whish was 380km on corrugations, in peanut butter mud that sticthioned me into a rigid for a while. All with a backpack on. ZERO chammy cream used - this is a combination of an amazingly designed bike and a murray tour de force saddle.

8.9kgs?!!!! no sealant i'm guessing?

I got the same frame, 999RSL XL

and mine is closer to 11kg.

ok it's 2x10, with stock inferno rims. but mostly nice kit on it!

jissus

Also have the XL frame.

My 10.3kg consists of the following.

Fox 32 Float Kashima

Raceface Carbon handlebars

S-Power 155 Sadle

DT Swiss x1700 Spline TWO (Rocket Ron 580g tyres front and back with only 60ml of Stans fluid)

Saddle bag with (2 bombs, bomb adapter, 20 piece multi tool, Plug kit, Extra valve and Chain Link)

A pump on the side and 2x Bottle cages.

Guide RSC Brakes (These are light)

SRAM XO1 Rear Mech and shifter

SRAM PG 1130 11-42t Cassette

XO Carbon Crank

Direct Mount 34T Rapide Chainring (Spider alone drops like 50g)

Maybe see where you can drop some weight cause 11kg is quite heavy without the Saddle bag and other extras.
