  1. All the best for whatever comes next, Chris! You're a legend in this industry.

  3. Howzit Chris - nice to finally say hello on the trails.
  4. Hey ChrisF - that was us with the tandem. I wish I'd known it was you sitting there - would have said hello. The lady is both blind and deaf (she has cochlear implants), and is absolutely remarkable. An absolute inspiration, and a pleasure to ride with. My husband is one of her tandem pilots.
  5. Very tough ride for me, but I will most certainly be back. Absolutely wonderful trails.
  6. Thank you for the heads-up, Thomo... I may have just gotten very lucky! That's the model I am after.
  7. Thanks - tempted, but I was actually after one of their ladies' models.
  8. Does anyone know of any shops/dealers in South Africa that stock Ergon saddles?
  9. The personnel images on their contact page are Pixabay/stock images. https://pixabay.com/photos/agent-business-call-center-18779/
  10. AlexBr, where did you find 650B rim brake wheels, or did you need to get them built up for you?
  11. Bontrager also makes pedals with a longer spindle. A friend of mine uses them. Something like this (not sure if this is the exact pedal): https://www.trekbikes.com/gb/en_GB/equipment/cycling-components/bike-pedals/clipless-pedals/bontrager-comp-mtb-pedal-set/p/22370/?colorCode=gold_purple

  13. IF your old trainer (the physical trainer, not a dongle) has Bluetooth, then yes, you can link to third party software like Rouvy, Zwift, etc. If your old trainer does not support Bluetooth, then no, not that I have found. Rouvy etc will find your ant dongle, but not your trainer.
  14. Are you referring to Tacx Trainer Software 4? If so, I'm afraid I don't think you're going to get going. I had problems recently, and as I understand it: The software still works if it is already installed. But the Tacx servers that it ran on are no longer working, so you can't re-install it, because you need to enter a code, which needs to be verified (which would require their servers to be working), to complete installation. Mine is thankfully still installed and running, but you can't update anything, do virtual rides, or save your rides, or anything else that would have needed access to their servers. It does run on Windows 10, despite the fact that some sources say it does not. Mine is happily running on Windows 10. Once my software stops for any reason, I am also buggered.
  15. Epic Expert Evo; 100mm travel at the back; 120mm fork.
  16. I have an Epic Evo and love it. Climbs like a mountain goat, but is perfectly capable on the sorts of trails I ride, which is pretty much all our Cape Town northern suburbs trails, outside of the specific downhill runs. And the bike might be able to handle those; the problem is that I can't! Servicing the brain shock is no more expensive than servicing the non-brain shock on my other bike.
  17. Just spoke to one Lbs ... they sold every one of their indoor trainers within minutes of opening this morning! Everyone getting ready for lockdown!
  18. Going to try some of these suggested apps, thanks. I started with RGT Cycling, because they've just announced that it is now free during this Corona crisis. That's when I discovered the old bluetooth problem, but will give a couple of the others a go.
  19. Thank you, RobertWhitehead - very kind of you. Will pm you.
  20. I turned the whole contraption over to find a serial number, and discovered that I have a T2021. It claims to be 'Smart', but obviously not very . Oh well, at least the old TS4 still works. Thanks for the help, guys!
  21. Unfortunately I have found an answer, but not one that I like. Seems like I'm on the old Tacx software for now, as I'm not keen to buy an expensive new trainer.
