Power training analysed

What program is best to monitor and analyses ones power training?

 

I am registered on Training Peaks but I want something where I do not need to go on to the net every time.

 

Any suggestions?

Golden cheetah. Free, and can do the basics like tss and a performance management chart. But also cooler stuff like aerobic and anaerobic tss, wbal, etc.

Have any of you downloaded the new golden cheetah v3.1.

 

Looks quite cool with some nice features re W'bal and extended CP

 

But if there is someone who could explain some of it, it would be great :clap:

I have downloaded it ... but at my 'level' I just monitor the PMC mostly, anything else I should look at?

In CP now you can change the chart to 2/3 parameters or extended CP, this will show you in the block what FTP/CP/W' should be, well close enough.

 

I've included a chart W'Bal, same chart that are used in ride with only the following on the Y axis, Power, W'Bal and Aer TISS, here you will see how W'Bal drops(when you go over CP/FTP) when you do intervals and the quality thereof. This graph also have at the bottom what minimum CP should be, hence if you have updated W' and CP correctly under rider preferences. However on this morining's ride my W' were given in red on the summary tab, I think this might mean that my CP or W'Bal is a bit low, but will test.

 

Lotsa new things, but check out some of the tutorials, I've watched the W'Bal one thus far, interesting stuff.

So after my race on Saturday, it shows that I've burned 40 matches, no wonder that I couldn't climb in the last 20km of racing, I was pap.

W'bal went close to zero on a stretch where I almost fell off early in the race. I then decided that my normal cadence riding of 100+(I'm not a big chap) was just not good enough as I was burning my lungs and the legs were still intact.

 

From thereon I was riding more to the front and getting involved as I noted this was the best way to stay with the race.

What did your wbal look like before you went pap snoek?

 

When I say pap it meant that I couldnt push anymore, ie couldnt spend a lot of time above FTP, therefor W'Bal would've looked reasonable.
