All the reviews of the oneten (yes that's a lot more travel) are consistent in that they couldn't get it to bottom out.

Affirmative. It's not easy. I currently run mine at around 35% sag and getting only to around 90-95% travel over some pretty beefy drops.

Have been lucky enough to see one in the flesh (or be it a prototype model without the RS1) and take it for a spin round the parking lot.

Sooooo nice, Me want.

Nice bottle cages, but will be a bit tricky to load on carriers.

Geez, well spotted. :D Thats the last thing I would have thought about, my first reaction was that there is no way the bottle wouldnt fall out of that.

I'm sure there has been tonnes of testing on that rear travel... All the reviews of the oneten (yes that's a lot more travel) are consistent in that they couldn't get it to bottom out. From what I understand, the suspension design actually allows a bit more travel that the shock provides because of how the shock is connected. This was a comment from a mechanical engineer friend when looking at the pyga suspension. I know nothing about these things....

Usually the rear suspension is determined in a large way by the suspension design. Measure a rear shock compared to the rear "travel" of the relevant frame...

Very similar looks / shape to the Niner Jet 9 RDO

Erm... no.

Maybe the section where the top tube and seat tube meet - but it ends there... note the 'full' seperate rear triangle on the Niner...

I agree, the general shapes are so similar. Sure any could find 101 differences but if that came flying past you on the trail you could be fooled into thinking its a niner.
