Are you suggesting BS was a heavy boozer?

We only shared the guest house for 2 nights, but being before a major stage race I was surprised in how much was drunk. He seemed like more than just a social drinker. He also had a few drinking stories to tell, but again I don't know if he was exaggerating. I obviously cannot comment for the other 362 days of the year, but it seems like he was drinking enough to affect testosterone.

Don't think it's fair to make such bold statements based on what you saw..

What's normal for you may not be normal for others.

That's the point isn't it? The need to have "normal" levels of testosterone rather than the level nature dealt you....

I accept that, but it is one example of something that BS could have changed to avoid medical treatment for his condition. All I am asking is whether or not he exercised all non-medical options before applying for the TUE.

You need to drink a cr@p load to affect testosterone.

He is 33, the levels drop already, he might have had higher levels of oestrogen from a younger age, and as he is getting older, his testosterone level just drops, I know about this, I suffer the same fate.

I know many fat and obese chronic drinkers who clearly have no issue with testosterone.

There will be many other factors that affect his testosterone levels.

Next thing, this bunch of uneducated freaks who run the drug organisation in our country make up their own rules as they go along.

Who the hell qualified them to decide that the lowest level allowed for TUE is already 1% lower than a normal low level that would have your medical practitioner prescribe supplement for your own health.

The only mistake BS made is that he didn't get everything he should in black and white, other than that he is just a regular guy like every single one of us with a medical condition that needs treatment.

For testosterone there is very little in natural terms to raise the level one can do.

I suppose all the butch women with high levels of male testosterone should drink more and totally look for all sorts of natural ways to better their oestrogen levels.

Thank you.... And I promise I am not an alcoholic.... During proper race prep would normally not drink a thing for a month or two... But sometimes we are entitled to let loose in the off season a bit (only human)

Butch women don't get prettier when they drink, they get prettier when I drink. The studies that I viewed claim that testosterone consumed in mild volumes could affect testosterone by 7%. It could be very material in a sport where every little bit counts.

Exactly what you said above is the slalom truth, I did make a mistake in the paper work ect and I would Swear on my kids lives that I did not intend to cheat..... Or gain unfair advantage all I wanted to do was feel healthy again and race my bike.... But in the end lost all of that anyway..... Cant race and lost whole team....

Those studies are most likely based on personal opinions with exaggerated numbers.

Not sure if this has been posted yet:

Rules governing androgen insufficiency TUEs.

Thanks doc....there there also seems to be a clear line between functional(TUE will be declined) and organic causes(TUE will be allowed) ito deficiency. Might also be the reason as to why said TUE was declined. Onus is on athlete. Unfair to give SAIDS the short end here.

Ok. Call it 5%. Still material, no? Just because we dont like advice doesnt mean that its bad advice. I'd like BS to shed some light on the matter. Are there any non medical measures one could take? Lets not make this all about BS, why not use this as an opportunity to raise awareness for men with low testosterone. He surely would have done some research, seen professionals etc before applying for a TUE. Why not share what he found?

Not even 5 %.

I just think you are targeting one small benefactor but there is a much bigger reason why men have lower testosterone levels.

Ask him to share.

Yea there are couple, from the doc's attachment:

Functional androgen deficiency may be due to:

1.Severe emotional stress

2.Morbid Obesity, untreated obstructive sleep apnea

3.Overtraining, malnutrition/nutritional deficiency, eating disorders

4.Medication – opioids, androgens, selective androgen receptor modulators(SARMs), glucocorticosteroids, progestins, estrogens, medication-induced hyperprolactinemia

5.Chronic systemic illness (chronic organ failure, diabetes mellitus, malignancy, rheumatic disease, HIV infection,Crohn’s disease, inherited metabolic storage diseases)

6.Constitutional delayed puberty**

7.Aging/Late onset hypogonadism (LOH)

8.Alcohol excess

But non of them will get an approved TUE.

you're foolish to comment on this thread, let alone even read it - let it run its course and be done with it.

I do not for one minute accept that you "made a mistake" - exactly the defence that Oscar has proffered, and lets see how that goes in a few days.

Where your entire livelihood - everything you do and and have built up over the years revolves around being MASSIVELY careful and cautious around PEDs,- to try to tell me that you would be so casual or slapdash with what could be compared to handling a live grenade does not wash my friend. When dealing with something so potentially explosive to your life and career, and you expect people to believe that you would have handled it in such a reckless manner stinks of BS (and NOT your initials). Your explanation is not plausible nor believable by a reasonable man
