Oh well, this has been real, BS has some big stones coming here and answering some of the bull****, he got caught and punished, taking his punishment like a man, in my books that goes a very long way to restoring his credibility.

The effect that this ban will have on his life is quite profound I reckon, say what you want, I really feel sorry for the man.

No he is not. Its all some Tannie's fault, the failure of SA doping controls, etc.

Ja, probably right. I would loved to be at Rat Boy's celebration, it was no doubt mayhem, and epic!

I actually quite like this HUB story.... Hopefully I can become a champion Hubber... At least I can try be a champ at something....

Chiming in a bit late here (Had to go to bed early to "train" this morning...) but you better be careful, it's like a drug and we all know how that turned out for you... ;)

Either way still took courage, not sure how you construed that comment as being heroic.

Sorry, my choice of words may have been influenced by all the arse kissing on the last few pages.

As Brandon admits himself, he did take a banned substance and should be banned for doing so. I totally agree with that. The rules are there for a reason!!!

Where the crap comes in is how SAIDS handled the case and the length of the ban. According to Brandon he was open and honest from the day he started taking the treatment. He has never denied taking it, and this was disclosed in all his drug tests. How can you ban someone who tried to hide the fact he is taking drugs for 24 months and someone who was open and honest that is receiving treatment for 30 months. In what world does that make sense.

So yes he should be banned for taking a banned substance without a TUE in place, but I think the length of the ban is extremely harsh given the facts(the ones we know about at least...)

I don't understand what you mean? Why should he be banned? He seeked their approval, he did NOT start taking it without informing them. So it was not taking a banned substance it was treatment for a condition.

Why did they take so long and do not have clear process to follow wrt to TUE?

Why have they been so absent in this and why did they give him a 24 mnth ban? When he NEVER hid the fact that he was taking it?

You say rules are there for a reason, there is also a TUE rule? Now lets look at that rule, who says that SAIDS did not break that rule?

Looks to me like you ASSUME SAIDS did their job competently and well and BS doped and was caught?

sure, but Who's? yuk yuk yuk!! do you have a pool guy?

If its the pool guy it will be the second last wood he gets, the next wood he gets will be the cricket bat across his temple

....

So by this logic if I seek their approval for a couple of cc's of aicar I am good and that is effectively the green light. Screw waiting for the TUE and following due process.

He started pumping TESTOSTERONE into his body without a TUE and raced with it in his system = Doping

Brandon knew that testosterone is a banned substance. He also knew that if he wants to take the treatment AND keep on racing he needed a TUE. The TUE was never approved and he started taking the treatment AND kept on racing. That in my book is breaking the rules.

I cannot say that SAIDS did their work competently or not, but from what I have read here it certainly does not look like they know what they are doing.

The fact of the matter is that if he wanted to keep on racing he should have waited for the TUE before starting the treatment. If the treatment could not be postponed then he had to stop racing and received treatment. By not waiting for the TUE and taking the banned substance(even though he declared it all along) AND keeping on racing, is where he screwed himself...

If you called the authority and asked what to do and they said "cool go ahead and in the mean time"

Then you believe you can do it while awaiting......TUE???
