My first three beer sub 2 hour Argus. Ran out of beer, just think how fast I would have been if I could fit a six pack in the camelbak.

pity 90% of 1D bunch had no intentions of trying to catch 1C

I think many people decided to take it easy, and I can't really blame them given the circumstances.  It would have been nice to have a bigger group helping in front though.

There were two guys in particular at the front of 1D who were seriously strong. Between them I think Carlo and Stuart must have spent at least 1/3 of the ride in the front.

I think the names on the numbers is a great idea by the way.  It's so much easier (and more easily understood) to say 'watch out James/Werner/David' than 'watch out Specialized/Bianchi/Giant/Velotex'.

The no stopping signs on Wynberg hill decent were less than ideal.

Yes, it was wonderful to call out one tjop by name to not chuck another empty goo packet on the road or else.......

Lol up Edinburgh drive I was towards the back and the front guys got away. Just couldn't catch them and not too many tandems willing to help. Admittedly we not the strongest climbing tandem. My partner is my 59 year old toppie so it's to be expected not to stay with the younger pairings up the hills.

Well done. We went hard up Wynberg and managed to hang on. You weren't that far off!

So who is the actual winner Nolan Hofmann or Solomons Rui from 4h? How does this work? Cause on the news they say Nolan but it looks like this guy had a time of 10min lesss than Nolan.

The guy that crossed the line first won. Often tactics slow down a race. Besides, it is not yet confirmed that Rui completed the whole course.

Ok so its not the guy with the fastest time that wins.

Need to be a pro to start first to stand a chance to win in other words?...
