Going down towards Wellington is a lekker ride, a few bumps in the road with a few sharp corners. The Du Toits Kloof Bains Kloof trip is a popular training route for the Double Century.

I nearly became a piece of fossil down the other side, having been used to what my mtb brakes do... missed than rock bank by a hair's breadth and with a push of a foot! (If it was a left-hand turn with open outside, I'd have been in trouble. But safe and many people ride there. Be aware of cars, esp coming down... it can be rather daft to think you're alone on the road. For that reason, esp in summer, we tend to head up there early - it's not a wide road.

Raydek Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Camping out in Bains Kloof this weekend and need to fit in an easy 4 hour road ride.. Is the area still ok/safe? Was thinking of heading towards Tulbagh area and back.
