Just thought I would let everyone know about the new PPA mtb event, happening on Sunday ,14 September.

Entries close on Monday the 8th and so far over 700 entries have been received.

All the new Paul Cluver single track forms part of the 40km long route.

If you took part in the Houw Hoek Tour, you will get to ride a lot of that again.

Witklippies, Mamba, Pofadder, etc

For the first time, PPA have added a trail run which follows the short route. ideal for looking after the kiddies on their bikes, while you pant alongside.

Remember, the long route is a seeding event for the W2W.

Go to www.pedalpower.org.za for more info.

I'm just putting the info out there. Would be nice to crack 1000 entries for the very first event.

I see the entries have been sold out at 800 entrants, are there any plans to release more? I have entered but I want to try get an entry for my Dad and a friend.

It should be a great race, I am looking forward to it!

Also wanted to enter (last night). It really sucks that people who are actually doing the W2W don't get preference to enter this race (it is a seeding event after all). None of the emails I received from PPA mentioned anything regarding a max amount of entries. #Fail

I have an entry, broke my wrist , i think it cost R200 if anyone is keen they can take mine?

Hi Stevief, just spoke to PPA and they are reluctant to consider substitutions. I am keen to explore. Can you PM me?

Yep, was waiting to see the weather forecast before committing. According to PPA it is to ensure that they have the necessary contingency in place for the event (ambulances, water stations etc).
