Lights By Linea HERO Challenge Spring Crit Series – September 2014

Lights By Linea in association with KIA Diep River, TREK Bikes SA, Craft and eCentric Payment Systems are super excited to announce the HERO Challenge Spring Criterium Series. The races are open to all categories of road cyclists who wish to take part; this is an excellent opportunity for the aspiring riders to push themselves hard and for the more seasoned riders to get some great training in!

 

  • 6 September 2014: Polkadraai, Stellenbosch
  • 13 September 2014: Polkadraai, Stellenbosch
  • 20 September 2014: Polkadraai, Stellenbosch
  • 27 September 2014: To be released at a later date…

Registration for the events held on the 6th, 13th & 20th September will be at the Polkadraai Farm stall and opens at 12:00pm. Registration will be closed to entrants 30 minutes prior to their category start time. Timing chips available at the Registration as per the League Timing chip - About2time.

The format will be as follows:

 

Cat 4 – start at 13:15 race for 30 minutes and 1 lap / R50.00 online entry fee

Youth (U12, U14, U16)

Cat 3 - start at 14:00 race for 60 minutes and 1 lap / R150.00 online entry fee

Seeded C - G (Funride)

Cat 2 – start at 15:15 race for 60 minutes and 1 lap / R150.00 online entry fee

Seeded B - D (Vets, Masters, Open & Ladies)

Cat 1 – start at 16:30 race for 60 minutes and 1 lap / R150.00 online entry fee

Elite and Seeded A (Elites & Sub Vets)

 

Please note:

 By entering the full Spring series online upfront, a R100.00 discount will apply for Cat 1, 2 & 3

 Entries will be accepted on the day of the race at a fee of R220.00 for Cat 1, 2 & 3 and R80.00 for Cat 4.

 

Prizes:

 Elites: Trophies for 1st, 2nd & 3rd / Cash prizes for 1st – 3rd (R1000, R750, R500)

 

 Sub-Vets: Medals for 1st, 2nd & 3rd / Cash prizes 1st - 3rd (R500, R300, R200)

 

 Vets: Medals for 1st, 2nd & 3rd / Cash prizes 1st - 3rd (R400, R300, R200)

 

 Masters: Medals for 1st, 2nd & 3rd / Cash prizes 1st - 3rd (R400, R300, R200)

 

 Open: Medals for 1st, 2nd & 3rd / Cash prizes 1st - 3rd (R350, R250, R150)

 

 Ladies: Trophies for 1st, 2nd & 3rd / Cash prizes 1st - 3rd (R350, R250, R150)

 

 U16: Medals for 1st, 2nd & 3rd / Cash prizes 1st - 3rd (R200, R150, R100)

 

 U14/12: Medals for 1st, 2nd & 3rd / Cash prizes 1st - 3rd (R200, R150, R100)

 

 

These events are CSA Sanctioned and will operate under the rules of the UCI.

 

Please note only participants with road bicycles will be able to enter. No mountain bikes.

Looking forward to this! Have the sport science 70km time trial in morning so may be a little broken.

 

Cant wait for the LBL viab again though.

 

Wish PPA would sort themselves out and start supporting LBL and at least send out a mail about it to the members for the funride!

No it doesnt, recce'd the route before the start & i could comfortably ride big blade at a slow pace, in the race you hardly feel it when in the bunch, in fact for the next 2 races i'm removing the small chainring to save weight :ph34r:

Racing was great!! Love these crits! Just need better hearing to hear the bell for the last lap :P

 

Sometimes when you bleed from the ears and eyeballs, hearing stops and vision becomes blurry...
