I bought one of the normal magiclight/extreme lights type of bike light.

 

Problem is the wire to the battery is uncomfortably wrong. Anybody with experience in shortening it? Feels like it should be easy ie. loosen wire on pc board inside the housing, cut shorter and solder back.

 

Should it be that easy?

Bahahaha! Yeah, he will. Inflection on the "A" was to say he'll not necessarily have to find the exact same cable and / or plug - any plug will do, as long as he modifies both the male and female to be compatible, and also on the charger.
