Funny enough, I rode with Dipslick a couple of weeks ago.

Everywhere we went, everyone greeted him.

"Hey Dipper"

"Waaaazzzzzzupppp Dips"

"Howzit my bru"

Yea, same thing happened to me when we went for a spin...he is like a celeb. Kind of a big deal you know. Apparently his study smells like leather bound books and rich mahogany

I greet in winter, as I respect the guys out there in 2 degree temperature, those are the hard core guys that have earned a greeting from me.

Come ride in the Cradle on a sat morning, now that the 94.7 is around the corner, and you will end up greeting thousands.

I greet if I greeted, otherwise sorry Im there to cycle hard, and cant be worried with hurting your feelings if I didnt greet you.

Can we also have an end to this complaint as it comes up time and time again!

Can we please worry about more important things such as taxis killing cyclists!

I get a lot of Spruit riders not greeting as well. I always say to my mates that those must be the pros in training.

On a serious note though, roadies have a lot to focus on, more so than the MTB riders. For example, this morning on my way to dropping my kids at school (no, not the pool), a roadie was well within the wide yellow on Witkoppen when a taxi came up behind him and tailgated him to the point where he almost touched his back wheel.

I saw this and cut the taxi off to give the guy some space. I was sworn at a bit, but I recon I'd be a little stressed riding in those conditions every morning. This could be the reason for their "serious" disposition?

I smile at everybody I see.

I greet everybody I come across.
I will stop at every guy  / girl suspended next to the road and ask if I can assist.

It makes me feel warm inside.

And I believe it makes a few people I come across feel warm inside as well.

That's life.
