Tokai Stats or Route profiles

Hi Guys,

I rode Tokai over the weekend & was wondering if anyone has accurate stats regarding some of the climbs ect (for all us tech-retards that ride without GPS ect)

According to my measurement tools, the climb to the mast is: @%*%$# meters high, and %$@@*^ steep!!

I was hoping some of you would have some stats regarding some of the typical routes. Reason being that these routes are quite often used as training for races, but it's hard to judge training rides if you don't know the stats. It would be nice to know car park to mast is X number of kilometers, with a total ascent of X meters.

As an example: I rode up Silvermine climb & completed the loop, came back down to Laaiplek (split to Mast/Silvermine), then went to the top of the Mast and back down to the car park. Unfortunately I don't have a GPS unit, so no Idea regarding distances, elevations, ascent ect. Does anyone know what the vitals on this ride would be? (I mean I know that I was buggered, but would like a bit more info)

From the car park up the road to the Mast is 10.2km with 760m of vertical climb.

That being via the most direct route, my normal route is around 11 km and around 850 m climbing

Ja, that's going up on the road wherever possible, the shortest possible way. No meandering on single track or across the mountain. Used it to test my Garmin against a topographical map cos elevations of races were always wonky.

Not sure if you can see my ride from Saturday on Strava if you are not logged in:

Basically I did your ride in reverse - first up to the mast then the Silvermine loop.

Hope that helps you somehow.

You should get a GPS though - it's really a great thing to track all your rides, runs, hikes or whatever...
