anybody have experince with these wheels?

Want to build these rims onto syncross/X9 hubs and i am wondering if anybody has ridden with them before?(heard that they are very strong)

Great trail rims and they seem very strong.

 

They are pretty wide but they aren't light though.

 

What type if riding do you do?

Spank are good rims and come in a variety of colours.

Rims are similar in Price to the Stans Rims. Was tempted to build a set of these onto Hopes. Have to agree that they may be a bit heavy (at 485g for 29" rim) compared to Crests (380g), but its not much heavier than the Arch Ex (460g).

 

Joshua from Cyclists Workshop may be able to give you first-hand review of the rims, think he build up a couple of wheels with those rims and he likes them.

I have the Spank Tweet (4 years old, trail bike) and Spoons (2 years old, DH bike)

and I must say I am very impressed, they are slightly heavier but I have had many pinch flats and hard landings and the wheels are almost perfect (like 2mm movement) and no flat spots.

 

I have heard a few people complaining that the spikes bend easily but I have never used them so cant say.

Jeepers. 485g is "heavy" for a niner rim!? My subrosa sixer rims are solidly in the mid 500 range

Its only heavy if your bike has a carbon seat....lol
