MrJacques Posted September 26, 2014 Share A new suspension design: http://www.vasttech.org Looks interesting... lot's of claims made, I guess we will have to wait for a review to see if it's as good as they say. Cool that they are trying something different. http://www.vasttech.org/uploads/3/1/7/1/31715591/6648692.jpg?
SimpleDom Posted September 26, 2014 Share Bonus. Plenty of space for the bottle cage.
MrJacques Posted September 26, 2014 Share Bonus. Plenty of space for the bottle cage. Yeah, that's what I thought as well, it might be able to have 2 bottle cages. Accessing / changing the shock looks like it will be a bit of a pain though.
Hairy Posted September 26, 2014 Share That shocks shaft is going to see alot of mudhttp://www.vasttech.org/uploads/3/1/7/1/31715591/283035_orig.jpg

Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted September 26, 2014 Share Yep. Only 118mm travel as well. Still, with a proper mudguard that won't be a problem
MrJacques Posted September 26, 2014 Share @Hairy: Agreed. Hope they put in some kind of mudguard.
nolipoli Posted September 26, 2014 Share I don't like it at all. They are trying too hard to be different, for no apparent benefit. The wheel path follows a tiny radius, evidenced by its limited travel. It also results in a very long section in compression (including the shock, which means that it will tend toward deforming under load. No thanks.

nolipoli Posted September 27, 2014 Share I guess you are right. I shouldn't judge before trying it.That said, if it doesn't appeal...
IH8MUD Posted September 27, 2014 Share They can probably keep the same plan, but make it less complicated and "easier" to manufacture by taking the seat stay linkage around the seat tube (like Spez and others) rather than through it.
GreatGusto Posted September 27, 2014 Share I'll put it out there. That rear triangle will not have enough stability for the rear wheel. Expect broken chain stays and possibly rear axles too. The pudding will be served before the main course.
MrJacques Posted September 27, 2014 Share A pic from their site of how it would scale for longer travel. One thing I don't see on their pics / site is where the rear brake caliper will be mounted? http://www.vasttech.org/uploads/3/1/7/1/31715591/342454_orig.jpg
