Hi all

In the market for some new shoes, :)

going to try and keep it under R3000 if I can ;)

So far I've looked at/tried them on.

Fi'zi:k
M3 MTB 40 R 2900 was R 3700 carbon sole
M5 MTB 40 R 2399 plastic sole, leather upper

Bontrager
Inform RL Black R 1599. Lower choice. Pressure on side a bit.

Also on the potential list, just waiting for stock to come in.

SIDI Dragon 3 MTB
SIDI Dominator MTB
SIDI Spider SRS MTB

Need some comment about the above, who has what, experience, good and bad.

I've ridden with M5's for a year now. On the bike they are great. I just find that walking and running in them my heel always feels like it wants to come out. It has never actually happened, but not the best for portage or walking...

Ok, the M5 got the plastic sole, and leather uppers, do you find the shoes get hot, and how stable do you find the plastic sole. the M3's is more meshie... implying cooler, but it has the Carbon sole.

I never found them hot at all. But actually now that you mention it, they kept my feet warm enough in winter without me having to wear more than just thicker socks on my feet. Even through the really cold days in my commute.

I've never felt that my feet are too hot though.

I've had spez sworks, GIro codes & now riding with sidi drako's and must say for me sidi's are by far better, rather wait you won't be sorry

So my thinking is between the M3 Carbon sole, mesh uppers or the M5 Plastic sole but Leather uppers, which be nicer come colder times.

With the M5's have you ever felt the sole be bendy?

No, but keep in mind I've never ridden in road bike shoes, so I don't know what that kind of stiffness feels like...

Sidi make cycling shoes. All others are inferior wooden clogs.

That simple!

I have ridden most brands and always return to sidi. Once you have a pair of sidi, you soon own 4 pairs.

I've had Sidi Dominators. Soles ripped from the shoes after a minor crash. Was my first pair and definitely my last. I now ride top end Shimano shoes. Far superior.
