What's with only having two venues for Registration one being at Delvera and one in the Southern Subs, what happened to registering at Sportsmans warehouse Bellville?  And to top it off NO registration the morning of the event! not a happy camper.

Any reviews on the difficulty of the route?  how much single track can we expect on the 55km?  I see it is quite a bit of climbing...

looking forward..just wondering if I should rather downgrade to the 38km

The route last year was not that technical demanding :-)

There are some single track sections but not difficult at all.

The climbing on the other hand was quite a bit - especially because the majority of the climbing was happening in the second half of the race if I remember correctly...

Maybe check the results of last year on racetec, search for people you know, then you can estimate how much time you need to spend in the saddle :-)

To collect someones race nr You need a signed authorization letter from them that states their name, surname and ID granting you permission to do registration on behalf of them.

So go prepared  :)

It's a ride, not a race, so chill Bro, chill.   :whistling:

Its gonna be a race to the sandpit on the first turn. Last year the guys nearly took one another out going into the first turn. Was an awesome ride, hope the weather plays along. PS. remember the last 5km or so was also very sandy. Hope its better this year. Great event and the hospitality area afterwards was even better. Nice ICE COLD BEERS TO SWALLOW THAT DRY DUST DOWN.

Yeah - I remember that sandpit. Fortunately the tumbling started only behind me...

Also the track narrowed almost immediately after the start which is in general not a good idea.

I never understand that 'I need to be first in the single track' attitude. It's a (half) marathon race - don't spill your beans in the first 15mins. Usually the last third of the race you ride on your own anyway - plenty of space for overtaking...

Last years total elevation was 1450m  according to strava.
