I think BigH is upset cause the bulls collected a b*tch slap on the weekend. To me' date=' it is just good manners to TRY and reply the in the same language the original question was asked, if you cannot manage that, then reply in your home/own language.[/quote']

AAR TOO DEE TOO dont be a dunce, like always, the Bulls win the Super 14 cup with the last game of the season, unlike the sjarqies who again are trying to win it with the first games of the season, they must rather start focusing on doing it right this year because it has now been a ELEVEN year drought for them.

Do you think they will be able to survive without their foul mouthed coach....... I think they will beacuase he does not really make a difference. The last trophy they won was in 1997 when he still played.

More importantly I  believe whatever language you opt to communicate in at least show it the due respect of correct spelling and grammar. Leave the SMS language for the conversations with Paris/Puff Bobby and the like!!!

Hear hear....or as some here would say. here here. Unfortunately every grammar/spelling flame contains at least one error. Your first sentence should read: More important (ly is superflous). I carefully checked to see my post contains no errors, but please don't hold me accountable for any should you find such. Wink

I agree with your sentiment though, I've seen some posts on this forum written in no language that I recognise. It is difficult to help someone if they are not eloquent enough to ask the question in the first place.

Yes! When i'm writing a sms a lot of people won't always be able to read it. I do so because using more spaces costs money. On a forum/e-mails etc. though it really gets to me when people can't spell/write correctly.

But hey...it's not a perfect world and other people don't mind/care so i guess we will have to live with itSmile

It?s not only on the HUB that the use of the English language is shocking ? I SA in general it?s at an alarming level ? I?ve marked quite a few exams @ university over the years and I often cannot believe what I?m reading (even from second years) ? how did these guys/girls ever get into the university in the first place? Lowering standards ? will this benefit the country in the long run!!

Most claim English isn?t their first language ? but sadly for them it isn?t mine either!

How can these people survive in the business world if they can?t communicate properly!

I got this e-mail earlier, and although I am English (sort of), I don't truly understand ALL of what Krisjan said eitherConfused... but did have a good laughLOL

Krisjan :      "Goeie more. Maak vol met Super,

asseblief."

Attendant :

"How much?"

Krisjan:      "Vol

asseblief."

Attendant :   "I

only speak English Sir!"

Krisjan :

"Noooo problem.... Good day to you, Sir.  I currently feel a profound desire to

replenish the propellant of my motorized vehicle. Therefore, I cordially request

you to transfer, from your

subterranean reservoir, a sufficient quantity of combustible fluid of the

highest octane rating to fill the appropriate receptacle of the said means of

perambulation to the brim."

Attendant:

"Hau!" ?

Krisjan :    "Do you have a problem Sir? I thought you

said you spoke

English?"

Attendant :

"English..... that? she is not English!"

Krisjan:

"My dear Sir, are you veritably

attempting to insinuate     that you do

not even recognize the language which you allege to be your singular means of

communication?"

Attendant:

"Hau?"

Krisjan :

"Let me attempt to elucidate in

the most elementary terms your paltry grasp of the English vernacular

is frittering away the time at my disposal, or, as I would put it, in a more

civilized, intelligible

language....

Dit is f**ken duidelik dat jy F**K0L van

Engels weet. So, kry jou slapgat in rat en maak hierdie bl.ksemse kar se tank

vol voordat ek hier uitklim en jou moer, want jy mors my donnerse tyd!!!!!!!!!

Verstaan jy nou?!!"

Attendant:

"Ja,Meneer. Vol,Meneer! Afrikaans is beter,

Meneer!"

Maybe I'm a bit late with the post, but we were at the bike show in Taipei till Sunday. You don't realize the value of being able to speak a language like Afrikaans. If someone said that Afrikaans is on its way out,my answer is - maybe in South Africa then, but not abroad. It is  a very strong bond that links us together. Americans. Canadians, they're jealous of us being able to speak to each other in an exclusive language. And what  we say - only a selected few will and can understand. They can only speak English (few Canadians can speak a little French), so whatever they say- all foreigners can understand and many Chinese can also understand them.

My son - 3 years- is fluent in Chinese and Afrikaans ( we only speak Afrikaans to him at home) and he understands and speaks more than the basic English. Problem - we have to spell if we want to say something he shouldn't hear. When we speak Afrikaans to him, he will reply in Afrikaans and when we speak Chinese - he replies in Chinese and so on.

If the language is diying, dieing or dyeing in SA, I don't know, but  it will survive in other countries!!

klink lekker, Ons triathlon racing season begin volgende maand met die Half Ironman in Kenting - heel in die suide van die eiland. Dan het ons so 6 triathlons en seker so 5 road races and 3 Mtb races tot einde November toe. So dis maar besig as mens so veel moontlik probeer inpas.

Hoe was jou Argus gewees?

Argus was ok met die hoeveelheid wat ek geoefen het en jetlag...My bene was styf na vlug. Het probeer afry maar was styf.

Dink ek en my verloofde moet 'n race of 2 kom doen daar! Hier is min races. weet van 'n kriterium volgende maand, maar nie van ander.

Ek sien die mense daar in die Weskaap is almal op tribikes...Hulle gesien oefen in die wind - en jy weet hoe die wind kan waai in die kaap!
