Hi fellow Hubers

I would like to know what is a light seat post I can buy that will be durable as well and good value for money.

I currently have my Giant seat post that came with the bike it's a 30.9mm and it's a bout 300g, so I would like to shed off some weight!

I have looked at the KCNC and Ritchey Seat posts.

Thanks in advance!

Thomson Elite

243gms for the regular length, 263 for the long.

Very strong, very well made, I have them on my bikes and really like them. Lots of good stuff out there though!

TiPro scandium - About 165g for the 30.9mm. I'm really lightweight but managed to break a specialized saddle without any damage to the seatpost or clamp.

You can only choose two.

Strong, light, cheap.

Nothing exists that can do all 3 :P

What he said.

Get a second hand Thomson and be done with it. You should be able to pick one up for less than a new KCNC or similar p.o.s.

and Thompson Elite gets another vote although I know of at least one ham fisted muppet who has been able to break one. In normal hands, they last almost forever

Crisis. Your mate (?) must be a proper moose. I have a 100+ kg mate who rode a 27.2 at full extension for years without any issues after bending everything else he tried.

I'm pretty sure Thomson kit was developed by aliens.
