Paint Repair

Where can I go to have minor paint scratches repaired without a complete frame respray?

During the past weekend my son participated in the SA Schools Adventure Racing Championships and during the transit of his bike to the next point the paint got damaged. In short my fault(somewhat bad planning- a long story for another day) and now I'm looking for someone who will be able to assist me to get the paint repaired.

Damage:

So I propped my bike next to a rock to take a pic of the majestic scenery. Next thing I know I am watching in horror as my few month old bike is grinding it's paint off on said rock. It was horrific.

Anyway the damage is not that bad but I still want to explore the option of fixxing it. Who does this kind of thing in Cape Town/Stellenbosch?

And what kind of cost is involved for a small touch up typically?

TIA

Bogus whose in Bracken fell, but you probably going to wait ages, then theres Eugene of Cycle Inn Durbanville does a decent job as well, not sure if his still thee but check him out on Facebook

Impossible to say. From a couple of hundred for small touch ups by hand to a couple of thousand if the bike is stripped, paint matched to perfection, masks made, airbrushed, and sprayed with a new clear coat to make it absolutely perfect.

Can recommend Carbon Bicycle Repairs (CBR) Durbanville, as recommended in post 13.

They did a bike respray for us a few months back.

The cost depends on MANY factors:

- colour(s)

- custom stickers

- possible damage to the frame...

The nice thing with CBR is, you phone, make an appointment, drive through, they check the bike out, and you get a written quote.

You go on the waiting list, and the job itself typically takes about two weeks (obviously depending on what needs to be done)
