On Line stores are great and all but i sill like supporting my LBS...

with LBS...

You get better Warranty Support

You get it fitted for free

You get Advice

and you don't get a scary tax bill when you collect if from the post office.

I would tend to agree.... then also, I'd tend to disagree

- See the current Kask thread

- You may get it fitted for free, and the service may be worth what you paid

- If I told you how many times I did my online research (or magazines back in the day) then have a chat with the LBS salesman, and quickly find out I know more than they do...

- This I agree on... that final bill always trashes the budget... and turns buyer's delight into buyer's remorse...

On the tax note...you know very well upfront pretty much exactly what the tax bill is going to be. There are loads of threads here with many resources for you to work it out so it really should not come as a surprise :)

True, but what if your nearest LBS is 120km's away, and don't stock Campag cables?

Also, I didn't pay any tax on my order as it came with a courier

No, you didn't pay any duties because you ordered a non dutiable item that was probably below the required level for vat charges as well (think it's R 300 or R 500 or something)

The fact that it was delivered by courier has fokol to do with whether you pay duties or not.

please explain?

yeah, naaaah... :)

Listen boytjie, the last time the bioscope went past Groblershoop was during the great flood - no, not the flood in 2011, the one in the good book.

Jeez mate,

It was my string and even I have long since moved on since then. This was post office strike related, so of course i was blaming Wiggle but they were innocent.

The goods actually arrived about 9 months later. I offered to pay Wiggle and they refused payment, so at the end of the day i scored. I did post it somewhere.

How the hell did you did this chestnut up...
