Any tips or tricks as what to do with your car key if you don't have family members or friend going with?

I've just "hidden" mine in my kit bag and handed it in to the bag tent.

Fingers crossed nothing happens.

Ok so reading how much training you guys are doing and comparing it to mine it looks like I will be paid to be the official sweeper for the day

Training has been really bad for the last month as I lost my mom exactly 4 weeks ago so I'm in it to survive! Oh well at least we have our health and ability to suffer properly during the race! N

My tapering has been awesome tho

You swam quite a good time on the 3km on Saturday... You'll be fine :-)

See you at Germiston

I swam in Germiston lake this past Saturday and the water is nice and clean and was fairly warm.  Was at 20 degrees. I swam without a wetsuit and it was fine after you get going.  I would recommend if you doing it without a wetsuit to jump in first for a bit of acclimatising, I did get a bit of a shock from the cold which took my breath away but I warmed up very quickly after that and wasn't a problem at all in the swim.  You don't want that to happen in a race though. There is a bit of grass stuff close to shore that we had to swim over but we swam from VLC so not sure what its like by the tri club where 5150 starts.  I'm sure it would be a bit of the same, when you get deeper it opens up nicely and you can just put your face down and go.

So it's wetsuit optional?  Yes please.

Which way are you leaning? With or without wetsuit?

definitely no wetsuit for me, hate the bloody thing...happily take the couple of minutes penalty of swimming without one and then score the 30 minutes it takes me to get it off

Why are we going to get penalised for not wearing one?

Sorry its a novice question i know but please educate me.
