Hi, i am looking to cycle with my mountainbike from villiersdorp to herbertsdale in the southern cape, looking for a nice off the beaten track route to ride, any suggestions welcome as im starting to organise the trip, want to go through Anysberg, but otherwise very flexible

And just one hill away from Herbertsdale lies Jakkalsvlei . Wine tasting area being completely built over. New restaurant etc.

Owner is a MTBer  himself.

Not sure if it's finished yet.

I have been organising mtb tours for many years as a hobby. It is hard work but rewarding when you take people to places that they have never  been to before or would not have reached were they not cyclists .

See www.kkkcycle.co.za .

I can also do taylormade tours .

What is not on the website is a tour  1st week in Feb from Hermanus to George 7 days ideal Epic training or for Jburg2C .

Safe riding.

how close to the "old" epic route are you going ?

and can you do it in reverse ?

Yes can do it in reverse.

I did the 1st Epic in 2004 so remember that route well.

Feb this year we did Stellenbosch to George but accommodation in Stellies is out of hand so I have changed it to Hermanus for the start.

The majority of the riders doing it are from Gauteng so they fly to CT and fly back from George.

We do parts of the old Epic route but also have some nice and other sections.

No camping nice accommodation and food and full back up. Biggest danger on the Tour is picking up weight.
