Guys,

No need to worry, we've been doing this for 14yrs. We've learnt the hard way early on.

At Meerendal especially we've done it as follows:

20km of dual track before the first single track on the half, marathon, ultra. (Half will climb another 1.7km and 100m ascent before the first single track)

100 rider per batch grouped according to ability.

740m ascent until the first singletrack.

It'll be real nice trust me.

Nice! Love the confidence.

Entered for the race, but the entry fee is quite steep.

R200.00 for the 40km, whereas the Bouckaert Soenen race is only R120.00 for a similar distance.

Don't even wanna know what the fee for the 70 and 110km races is.

we will not talk figures but let's just say I took up a 2nd bond, I needed the home & now I need this race so wasn't a tough decision really ????

You have to compare normal fees, ie. R160 public and not R120 for ppa.

R280 late entry? we charge R250.

You also get a good goody bag and great waterpoints and cross up to 5 mtb parks... in one race.

This is a UCI event and high status and not just any other event, come do the event and then let me know it wasn't it's monies worth ;) I'll personally give you your money back. :)

Already entered, so I'll be there.

Where can I meet you afterwards (and I only accept cash) :whistling:

If we enter on the day do we still get seeded or do we start in cattle class? This is for the ultra.

Hi There,

Yes you still get seeded on the day, for the Ultra though there is usually not seeding needed...

really depends on the amount of entries.

Agree, this event offer so much more than the PPA race.

For reference

The Attakwas is R600?

This ultra-event is 50% cheaper.

Thank you

I don't enter races for goody bags. That is soooooo Noob......

Just teasing you guys. Quite sure it will be a fun race (even though it is held over routes that we ride regularly)

See you guys on the day.

And Wessel can just sponsor me a beer afterwards whilst we discuss the race merits..... :whistling:

Hmm interesting race, I wonder how they will be running it seeing the landowners and the trail owners, Tygerberg Mountain Bike Club have not been contacted to get permission to access the trails.

Yes they have been

Sean Noble was notified in October.

They have a committee meeting tomorrow and will discuss some things then.  ^_^

so as a nobody, can I qualify to ride the 75km or is that what the 20km fun ride is therefore?

I'm a nobody and have an entry for the 75km. It might hurt a bit but the race organisers don't seem to mind.
