When will start groups be released?

Start groups or start times?

Start groups show on the race website www.germistonclassic.co.za

Start times will only be available after online entries close.

It is hard to understand that. Surely they are not in direct competition with you. It can even be seen as something they can use for advertising.

I have to admit that I am very interested to know which race it is.

We (the race committee) decided not to get into a fight with one race organiser over their rather blunt reply. We didn't even reply to their mail once received.

At the end of the day, cycling should be the winner and we try our best to give a little bit more than most.

The data is available online and anyone with half an IT brain will be able to extract the info. Is it the right thing to do?

How much confidential can it be, its listed on CC/Racetc website for all to see.

I know it is and I know how to get it - but asking (or rather explaining why we need it) was the polite/responsible thing to do.

I get that you cant use them even if they are freely available without their permission, just wondering about the other orgs comment around confidentiality, how do they think their race is seeded.

Anyhow, looking forward to the race, 2 weeks to go.

I have to admit that I am very interested to know which race it is.

I was going to say "Have a look at the Gauteng based events that we're using - you'll find one absentee from the list", then I realised there are a few of the well supported events missing.

Two of these events we didn't contact,

One that we did contact said they would assist but haven't come back to us.

Then there is the BIG one that can't SEE a reason to share anything.

Racetec, PPA, CTCTT, Cycle Events - all one big happy family.

All the information is shared freely between these organisations - that's how 99% of the events get seeded.

Both majors in Durban (Shova and Tour Durban) are Racetec timed. We travelled up and did 94.7 and Value logistics, being Racetec. Pointless to do one race a year for which you need another chip. Would have loved to do it. (minus 17 riders from our club, sorry). We all lose out because of this. Already the adrennies are hyped in anticipation of Argus.

Understand your point, and noted.

Not much we can do about it (for now).
