Interesting topic.....

I have been on both sides and never a harsh word has been exchanged if you have some manners and patience.

When I am passing I usually ring my bell to let the rider in front know I am there followed up by, dont stress I will pass on the right when there is a gap. It takes the stress off the rider in front and they are also expecting me to pass and they know which side. It never takes more than 60 second at the very worst to get a gap to get passed.

When someone is trying to pass me I ride the racing line I am entitled to but always move left as soon as its safe to do so. I let the guy behind know this and there has never been a hassle.

Simple respect and not giving a damn if you finish in 435 or 436th spot usually leaves smiles on the trail.

WTF does "track" or "hold your line mean" anyway???

110% agree with you and do the same .... it is the civilised way to conduct yourself.

- I think I am better than you.

Was the term "track" not from XCO where it is a proper race and tell the person in front of you to move over if they are travelling at a snails pace.

Nothing wrong with using it in a civlised manner and both parties behave themselves.

BOOM, shot across the bow!

Does your buddy who vloeks his mouth off also ride a SPEZ?

because you know what they say about dirt roadies on spaz bikes, (insert some wild generalisation).

No Shebeen, he is a proper Mtb-er. He rides something real exotic & niche. Not some run o' the mill fiets...
