There has been enough time between your last seeding event for them to peniliase the events a considerable amount, making you eligible for additional sleep of an hour in the mornings of events.

This is an amazing opportunity to see some amazing sights, I started there for two races last year.

You see the guy fighting with a marshal saying that he is training for IM and his Tri bars are fine, he also has no sleeves and you can already see him burning.

Then there is the guy in Sky kit, Dogma, sky cap and green bideons with his underwear beneath his kit.

Then there is the E seeded rider that has had a bender and has stumbled into the chute and is making funnny sounds. (Give this man space)

Then there is the pro that has been told he is to ride with SO or parents and is looking around in complete shock that no one has shaved their legs and that some people are wearing secret socks.

Then there are the ladies that have been dragged out of bed, convinced that they want to ride by SO and are alone in start pen wishing the day to be already over.

There is always the guy chirping that this is his base miles and that he will have to take today easy.

There are a few more I am sure, like the guy with his iPod in etc.

Your average finishing time for racing is 102.5% more than a theoretical winner currently and you will start in the U group which has other riders who average that same difference in time.

Theoretical winner is essentially what they term the adjusted winners total time. The Argus errrr CTCT draws the strongest field of pros to an event in SA and therefore it will typically have the fastest finishing time in relation to the difficulty of the course given the depth of the field and the prestige of the race. All other events have a handicap system for both the adjusted winning time as smaller races have a less stacked field and the difficulty of the courses are not equal, so these are factored into each riders result to determine their overall seeding.

Example. west Coast Express pre this year had only 1 climb, making it far easier and draws a field of 800 to 1200 riders, which is way less than fun ride world champs, so typically the winner of the actual race would finish 10 to 15 minutes behind the adjusted winners time which is done to make up that change.

That means if the Argus winner does 2:30 in perfect weather, they would expectaguesstimate that you would be done in 2.5 hrs X 2.025 = 5 hrs 4 min, and therefore should start with similar folk. Unfortunately, if you don't do competitive races for a long time, that percentage gets bigger as they penalise you for not doing races.

I have heard of these mythical beasties, but as one of the E group riders who has had the misfortune of being purely savaged by a certain team training for the DC (no names mentioned) on one of their gentle training races, I have to mention the A group rider, who has shaved his legs, with veins spidering up and down his calves, and has a tan the likes of which no man can provide Aftersun for... And he has dropped back to Group ZZ and scared the living Bejesus out of the rest of the group, and when he isn't listening, they whisper in hushed tones 'Would someone PLEASE get him a burger or two...'

Hehe :)

ah ha, so that means just pitch up and ride like any other normal day. Got it - buuuuuuut know your alphabet soup - you DO NOT want to start to early, cause then you might be starting later when the world fun ride champs comes around again.

PPA Seedings have just been updated, these will give you a rough guide to where you will start in 99er.

Going to get updated seeding today :)

You might want to check your seeding again. All CTCT seeding events have a weighting of 100 and this counts to PPA seeding too. Mine changed

Scenario 1:

Index of a CTCT seeding is better than any other index, then it will count 100%. i.e. the index of this race will be your PPA seeding.

Scenario 2:

Index of CTCT seeding is the 2nd best index e.g West coast express 35.29, Stellenbosch Cycle Tour(seeding event) 43.84, then the seeding event will count 66% of the 100%

Scenario 3

Seeding event index is third best index, then the 34/34/32 split will be implemented.

When calling the PPA, some of them never understood as racetec does all the seeding, for the PPA as well. So you might just find yourself in a higher group.
