Hi all. I have a hardtail mountain bike, for the occasional offroad riding.

When I started cycling I wanted something that can do both.

I ended up 90% on tarmac and gravel roads, hardly ever true offroad.

So I started following this thread with building my own cx bicycle in mind, that would be lighter than my 16 kg hardtail.

Then I found the Silverback Scento. Its pretty good looking and was wondering, what do you guys think of this bike, and if it will work if I just replace the straight bars with road bars?

Here is the link to silverbacks page: http://www.silverbacklab.com/bike/city-hybrid/silverback-scento-1/

This being the most expensive one. The Scento 3 still have a steel fork without disc brakes.

Here are the details of the bike...

Any inputs are welcome, since my technical knowledge is limited.

might be a good option, juts watch the TT length as it looks longer than normal road bikes, so a shorter stem will be needed for sure.

will need new brakes along with some STI's.

then some 32c tyres.......
