Rider came down hard on a hump on trail next to Christina de Wit this morning. Right side of his face was badly smashed. Ranger took him to hospital. Hope he's going to be ok. Didn't get his name but saw that his 94.7 number was 19887. Anyone know him?

Yep.Same spot, still recovering from my fall 4 weeks ago.Fell right on my head cracking my helmet.Torn ligaments in my shoulder.

Best of all,I warned a friend of the hump before we got onto the trail.

Hope he's OK

I have just heard that it was my best mate in this accident. That is not his bike in the first photo. He was on a Rocky Mountain Element.

He cannot recall what happened and is currently hospitalised, on morphine and very confused. It appears that he went over the bars and face planted. His glasses tore into his right cheek, his lower lip detached internally from the lower mandible and he fractured his spine.

Healing vibes, mate.

Perhaps that a cautionary notice board should be placed at that spot.

Maybe give a bit more info on where and what to avoid here? By the sound of it, definitely a bump I would like to avoid.

Thanks for posting Blackbeard. Yes, that first bike was just in view on the GoPro as we arrived. I rode his Rocky Mountain back to the road for him.

What is his name? Wishing him a speed recovery.

A warning sign would be helpful for sure, but there are actually no signs anywhere in Groenies.

EISH,hope he makes a full recovery, any one got a pic of the bump, that way we can suggest a board, I can't see a bump in the back ground maybe it's one of those that claims many falls but it looks like nothing when you approach it

The bump is about where the pin is in this screenshot. It's the trail with the fence on the left - pretty fast section. post-30044-1417963519,6229.jpg

Here's another pic from our approach. Ranger dude holding the bike is standing on the hump - but that's the issue, you don't see it's a big hump until too late. post-30044-1417963623,5502.jpg
