I would love it if the worst that could happen while cycling was to be shouted at by drivers...

I HAVE BEEN WATCHING A FEW YOUTUBE LINKS,  i think we got it pretty comfy here, look at london every clip is cyclists getting knocked down/out, swore at forced off the road, there they are hated on a different level,  i see know that there are more and more commuters i think the taxis are becoming more chilled, saying that 90% of my near misses have been ladies and oomies and drunk laaitjies in the morning NOT TAXIS DIPS RUNS

This I think is true.. I commute by motorcycle every day and the taxis are cool they open up for you and let you pass..

 

The most dangerous are indigenous woman drivers and drivers checking their phones or bizarrely holding on to their phones while steering?!

 

And the idiots that think Lane splitting is illegal and try to stop you by closing the gap or not letting you in a gap a d then shouting at you that you should be in the lane behind them

Yesterday I was  riding high speed down a steep descent. There are potholes in the road so I was weaving to avoid them and and concentrating on the road. I heard a polite toot behind me and saw a taxi come up behind me who I hadn't heard coming. He gave me a wave to acknowledge me and passed giving me a wide berth. Just goes to show!!!

Haha I love commuting by bike but cars are the least of my worries, pedestrians that don't know which direction they are walking. Think ringing a bell even creates mass hysteria where everyone stops dead in their tracks and stars at you.
