watsonr Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Garmin HRM been giving hassles for the last 2 months. Would work for half the ride then stop. Eventually gave up on it and left at home on rides. Last week decided to clean the sensor after reading this thread and applied some Q20 to the metal points for good measure. Worked absolutely fine on both rides this weekend.

I have previously managed to upload files but I would either have been on my PC at work or using my laptop with wifi and not with a 4G USB plugged in, so not sure if its the USB that isconfusing it.

For the 702 model I hold up the joystick while I plug in and then it picks up. Maybe you have to hold one of the buttons while plug in on the 500 to pick up. Also try using another USB cable.

Mopkop Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Hi mense So this week I've been getting HR readings into the 240s. Yesturday I was able to ave 212 for a 4hour ride. I opened up my strap today, its not the soft strap, its the cheapie they give with the edge 500. Check the pics and tell me what you think please? Is it time for a new strap? It looks pretty nasty inside

Mopkop Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Hi guys So I've cleaned the strap and I've sprayed the internals with some q20. I replaced the battery and my ride this morning was fine until about the last 3 km when I was warming down when it started displaying 234bpm again. What can I replace the strap with? I Can get the Garmin premium for abt R810(multiply store) or the powercal for R1450. The Polars at sportsmans warehouse are nicely priced but I dont know which unit to look for?
WrightJnr Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I used a Wahoo Tickr belt with my Edge500. Was nice because it's dual ANT+ and BLT4. So it worked simultaneously with my Garmin and Strava on my phone for example.
