That is a great price for the multi. I can get a tomtom runner gps with hr belt for R2299 on takealot now. Have about 4000 disc miles I can throw in there so watch could come in for just under R2000. My 1st choice at this stage. If I could get the multi sport for what you paid I would have taken it. Think there is 1 now for R2999

Its a pity they only have it left in pink.

The bike mount is really good too, didnt think I would use it but it just works so well.

It has a lightning quick GPS lock, much faster than any other GPS watch I have ever used.

I bought my tomtom multisport from cape union mart for R2999. Very nice. Had a garmin forerunner 305 that was stolen. Bought the tomtom 2 weeks ago. Easy to work an nice big screen to see on the bike.

MODS, can we merge all these which gps watch to buy threads? about 8 of them!

Amazing how one's decision changes. Went to Cape union mart today to look at my options and now I am even considering getting the suunto ambit 2s. It is a multi sport watch. Regular price is R5999 but is on special for R4599. With all my discovery discounts I can have it for R3590. Not bad for that level of watch.

On other hand though is all I need now is just a gps running watch with hr and distance. Amazing how 1 seems to justify in your head acc to what you really want and need....................

I bought an Ambit 2S from sportsmans yesterday for R3000. viva yellow sticker sale, viva.

I was actually just looking for a pair of slipslops, but that's the way these things go.

there is a white 2S still there, just saying

as a matter of interest...anyone know how you can buy a watch without the HRM strap...seems a bit of a waste of money to buy another strap if you already have one

I know i sound like a polar fan boy (really I'm not) but I've always worn polar watches for year (only during training...swimming, cycling and running) and never a problem with a strap perishing or breaking for any reason

My strap on my Polar CS300 broke and had it replaced for R130. Polar SA service was very good only waited 10min and it was done.

Ok so I got the tomtom multi and used it a few times now. Very impressed so far. Would have liked to see 1 more variable on the screen at same time but anyway.

Been taking it slow and last week I did 3 x 3km and my old Achilles injury popped up again. Jeez! This is hardly running and already have issues again

Buy a polar, the M400 and V800 can be purchased with or without strap and sensor

Was that the older "fabric" type strap (with a almost hessian looking like material)... pure crap and thank heaven for the new type straps which are much softer (rubber or silicone material)  and work1st time every time even if you use it dry.

Eish...Check that your shoe heel to e drop is not excessive.... the latest trend in some shoe brands is to reduce the heel to toe drop and this might aggravate tight Achilles...

Maybe try a heel raiser? 3 - 5 mm ??

I bought the forerunner 15 with HRM strap for 2k through momentum multiply.....should be here next week sometime...battery life should handle most runs except a comrades (unless i run a silver!  :whistling: )

will give a little feedback review when i get it
