Builders Warehouse stocks it but they had limited stock when I bought it.

I have sprayed a frame with it and it works really well but can scuff quite easily.

Cool thanx

I'll try them tomorrow

I want to actually dip something as I need a fairly thick coating which is hard wearing

I went to find some about four months ago and none of the builders I went to had any in stock. I could only get straight from the importers. They will deliver overnight.

It's great using it. Tried to spray a frame but didn't order enough. It's not opaque unless there are quite a few coats, and even then still slightly see through. I used the smokey colour on my crank arms, and even though it always felt rubbery, pulling it off before I sold them proved that the stuff is damn strong and scratch proof. Actually struggled to pull It off, but the cranks had a thick layer.

Spraying will release particles like dust all over wherever you spray it. They vacuum up easily but are still a bastard. Just bare that in mind.

Touching up is always easy, masking it and pulling off not is easy. Make sure to pull the masking take off when the top coat is still wet.

Thanks to the solvent or whatever they use to keep it liquefied, if you spray a coat on top of another, it liquefies both. So be careful with that. It's great if you get a nick or scratch later on though, because you can spray some on and rub it into the existing coat, but it takes a lot of finess.

That's about as much as I know about it!

Try the Builders warehouse in Strubensvalley they had stock when I was looking to get some. They had both the aerosol and the actual dip.

I hope you come right

You can no longer get plastiDip at Builders.

The main importer stopped selling it to builders.

You have to get it from local PlastiDip applicators.

you can get from the place ricers get their car parts from in chinatown

I wouldnt buy plastidip from china malls as it will be fake and wont peel off.

Only the official plastidip from Performix is recommended.

We have had customers come in using cheap china dip and it destroys standard paint work

In JHB you can get it at Autostyle Motorsport in Mayfair,

I have used it on my car with excellent results, I would recommend using at least 4-6 coats as it makes it easier to remove of you need to, (you will need at least 2 cans)

It is really cheap, R170 per can and R220 if you want the glossifier,

The beauty of it, if you dont like it, simply peel it off with no residue :)

Or you can get it from us in Randburg, we are the main distributor for the Northern Suburbs of JHB we are based at 6 Alexandra Street, Kensington B, Randburg.

I'm looking at spraying my white fork black. Will it discolour the original finish when I peel it off?

I sprayed the clear on a silver Trance frame, after peeling it off it looked a bit yellow but after a clean with parafin it look fine.

Not sure how legit these guys are but they have been spamming a lot of local forums with pseudo marketing threads posted as if they were normal users, "hey have you heard of these new guys called LiquidDipz" only to properly shill the company and their product.

Why do that, just start a legit thread about your company. Probably trying to avoid showing forum owners their due respect and/or pay to be trade partners, which makes you think perhaps LiquidDipz is a bit shady/fly by night and a company to be wary of.

3 year bump (from google). Does anyone have experience with plastidip on their bike? How does it hold up? Considered a respray, but the paintjob is still good and i dont want to devalue my bike. Just getting tired of the design, and need to do a pivot service sometime soon anyway.

It's not super easy to work with, and may be better to just pay a little extra and have a professional do it... The guys who dip cars can assist.

As for how it performs? It's pretty great. I plastidipped my crank arms years ago, and it always felt kind of soft and I worried about it, however, it never got a chip, and when I pulled it off to sell the cranks, god did I learn how tough that stuff is... It will add weight, but it'll be pretty and tough.
