Doesn't make sense. Why do it just after Joberg2c and Sani?

I understand the weather factor but still?...

Boet, there are too many races .

I reckon they need to trim the volume and up the quality .

Remember not everyone can afford entry fees for Sani and J2C.  Sabie falls in the affordable range, so I guess its a case of pick ur races (for many its based on the affordability).  Sabie also a good entry level stage race.

I am not sure what they offer at Sabie nowadays and I have not done experience for a few years, but the full format race was any thing but a good entry level race .

Are the races full or empty? Are there suckers customers paying for these races, and are the organizers making a profit? If so, then there's not too many races.

I hear what you're saying, from an entrant's point of view. But from an organizer's point of view, the above is true. And it's not one guy organizing all these races, so who must cancel their race to improve another race's 'quality'? (Oops ... that came out a bit racist)

Choice, it's a wonderful thing we have.

Relax your pants.

The races aren't full either, so don't be fooled by what you assume .

Sabie Experinece for one has had a massive drop in numbers since the first few years, the OP of this thread will be able to confirm that too .

Choice is a wonderful thing, agree.

But when the choices you have is so watered down in quality then what's the point ?

What pants?

Last two times I was at SabieX there was between 700 and 800 riders ... pretty good numbers for a stage race, I think. All the trailseeker races I attended last year was sold out, sometimes weeks in advance (3000 riders) and the MTN races was also over 800 riders each.

I'm not seeing the same drop in numbers you are, is all :D Personally I'd like to do them all but I'm not gonna find either the budget or the time this year ... sadly. Will do three Mountains though, and Van Gaalens, will see what else crops up.
