Tinus never refused to tell me anything and he also never refused to pay back any money. He did not receive the money, I did. It was paid directly into my account. The buyer sms'd Tinus and Tinus has Samsung phone problems.

The buyer is extremely anxious about this deal and expects the worst all the time. On the other hand, one cannot really blame him, since this country is crime ridden.

Before I say good bye, I want to say that I hope the buyer will come back here and apologise for the quick assumptions that were made today. I also hope he confirms that what I said here is nothing but the truth. That would clearly be the right and honest thing to do. But let's see.

thanks Mr Uys

lets hope the OP gets his bucks back and Mr Uys gets his bike back to try sell it again

Don't worry, Stretch. The buyer will most definitely receive his money back. I have already spoken to him over the phone and requested his banking details, which I have not received yet. I am still waiting for it...

how do you know someone is a doctor...........they tell you  :whistling:  :D

Indeed, Stretch. Especially when their initial four names were rejected because the names have already been registered on the site.

just pulling your leg

Posted

Good day everybody. I have joined this site just to rectify this problem after a friend told me about this thread just now. I am Dr Uys, a woman living in Pretoria. I bought this Giant bicycle for my son but he never used it. After a several months I decided to sell the bike. I paid R32 000 for it and on the Bruce Reyneke invoice it states that it is a Medium. To be exact, it states: TCR ADV 2012 (M) CROM/BLK/BLU. I presumed the (M) stands for "Medium".

I requested Tinus to sell the bike for me because he is a very keen cyclist that did the Argus nine times already. He joined your site and advertised the bike here.

The buyer apparently called Tinus last night, telling him for the first time about the problem he experiences with the size of the bike. Tinus was out on a job and returned to Pretoria this afternoon. He contacted me and told me about the problem. I immediately phoned the buyer and spoke to his brother. His brother told the buyer to phone me back and I have just spoken to him too. Of course I am refunding the buyer and I also sent him my personal details and a copy of my ID. He will send the bike back to me back tomorrow.

Because Tinus wanted to advertise the bike again and not to disappoint me, he activated it and changed the size to M/L, since this caused so many problems.

Everybody is happy and disappointed now. Happy because the problem is properly addressed within 24 hours and disappointed because the buyer cannot have his dream bike and I did not sell it successfully. But, I suppose, this is life.

Welcome and well done.

I know. (You should have pulled the buyer's leg(s) - then the size of this bike would not have mattered so much.)

Glad this is all sorted but I don't understand the compact geometry story Rock mentioned

That's like me telling my skelm I have a 10" tottie... And then when she sees it I pipe up and say don't worry love, it's compact geometry.

Just a thought

Good feedback. I wonder what my friends would say if I got my mom to state my case on my behalf... but Doc, good on you for rectifying. It shows honor and pride.
