Do I need to have an activity card or what are the requirements to attend the AGM?.I'm new to mtb and a regular visitor to Tokai. Thanks

We have no membership structure. Just the 5 member committee. So there is no membership criteria for you to attend the meeting.

As a rider of Tokai please come along and vote for who you would like on the committee and hear about the challenges we've faced in our quest for more and better trails and the plans going forward.

Just a thought here but shouldn't there be a representative from SANP there to give some feedback on their plans going forward.

I suspect that this is about as likely as trail runners not being on the Tokai trails. Maybe you can dress up in a green uniform and jack boots and give us the next best thing :-)

Wouldn't be hard, all I'd have to do is stand there and blame mountain bikers for anything that wasn't accomplished in the previous 12 months, hang a little carrot in front of guys by saying we have no problem with building more trails if certain conditions are met and do absolutely nothing for the next 12 months except raise the entrance fee...

SANParks sent more than one representative to the inaugural meeting of the Tokai Mtb (2013, I think it was) and they did a presentation of how things are supposed to work between themselves and the user groups like us (MTBikers).

But, yes, I think it might be a good idea to get someone high enough up  in Table Mountain National Park specifically, to explain their vision directly to the Tokai Mtb AGM. I, for one, would appreciate direct feedback on all that is happening, conservation, pine harvesting, running, hose riding, cycling, the works.

I hope there will be someone at Parks brave enough to stick his neck out this far.

Ya, that's what I would like and for them, to give us feedback on what they said they would do last year, what they have actually done and what will be done in the coming year. Actual meaningful, measurable stuff

I'd come to listen to this.

Maybe I should come anyway...

Please attend the AGM. Even if you find no answers, even if you just feel frustrated and say nothing. It would make life for the chosen committee of Tokai MTB easier if they can truly say that they are representative and have the bulk of the cycling community behind them. An AGM with 200 people is just better than one with 20 bodies!
