Any idea why this is so? I hate admin and I hate spending unnecessarily. I have never done a Championchip race and have never forked out the +/- R100 for the timing chip - so every time I look at Championchip races they become R100 more expensive for me. Then there is the admin involved in changing chips - my Racetec chip is permanently fitted to my bike, no extra admin there. The idea of changing chips for different races is just...meh.

arendoog Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Missing both road events this weekend .Enjoyed the race last year .That last 10 km is the worst .Hill snacks is a nice warm up and not to be feared .I will tackle the Serengeti mud bath on Saturday instead .Keep in mind there were only minimum toilet facilities at the start last year !

BDF Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 This would have been my first race in VC - I aged myself from VB to VC this year. Unfortunately missing it for the first time in 4 years due to spine surgery. Its a lekker race and a great pre-Argus (CTCT) ride to do. Good luck to all the guys riding this year's edition (which seems to have more riders than ever before)!

Thanks for the heads up - I always appreciate any inside info. I feel much better now going into the first hill and will be sure to give the last 10km the respect it deserves!
