also, what the devil happened to the goodie bags? it was total chaos at registration on Sunday morning. Very unorganized for such a main-stream event i must say.

I did however enjoy the race.

Water points were well spaced and stocked, but then again I took off with A so I wont know if there was anything left for the later groups. Safety marshals on all the right danger/strategic points and good paramedic presence.

In a nut shell, pre-race and post-race organising sucked big time but intra-race was great.

Did you go for the goodie bags and post ride drinks, or did you go for the ride?

Yup, Fridnesday it is...

I registered on Saturday, shortly after the registration opened, and already the goodie bags were down to a bare minimum, and upon reaching the finish line, I found no ice cold beverage awaiting me...but...that it NO WAY detracted from the sheer joy of finishing my first K2C...It was tough, at times I felt like tossing my bike, but then I just thought back to the hours and hours of agony battling countless hills during my training, and of the many Saturdays my wife spent home alone while I was out growing a pair of legs, and that is what carried me over the finish line. So to me, that sums up my experience, not some plastic bag with some gels and powdered drink, which one should not try for the first time anyway during a race...

Just saying.

So you spent 4 and a half hours on the downhills and you are surprised you passed nobody????

What a terrible race.

I had to pedal my bike up the hills, sweat in the heat and suffer a bit.

Apart from this, I even had to stop at water-points, there were just too many of them, they distracted me, even all the clear distance markers and emergency personnel, really guys, get it right next time....take the beautiful scenery and the enjoyment of riding into Knysna and stuff it....

If goodie bags are part of your "whole experience" you should prepare yourself for a lifetime of disappointment.

No need to mark the route, just follow the gu gel packets. Not Cool !!!!!!

If 169 is correct I think he should be named and shamed?  This litter is becoming a problem.  Just because taxis do it does not mean we must do it.  Disgrace!

Ja, tons of litter on the route. Sies mense. And in such a pristine environment. One of these fine days cape nature will prevent the organizers from hosting a race in this beautiful part of the country due to all the litter bugs.
