Im seriously thinking of going to cycle fit but what im worried about is if I get there and they tell me my frame is the wrong size, seat is wrong etc and then have to fork out more money. that's the only issue I have.

Any comments?

Did 2 ergofits a week apart cause i was not convinced by the first fit, so went to another ergofitter and their measurements were different to the first ergofitters(different cycle shops)... So i think it works but depends on the person doing the fitting.

I was going to say more could depend on the fitter than which bike fit they work with.

If your frame is one size out they can work around it with saddle positioning, stem length etc.

I did one a year ago and although was riding a 54cm frame was discussed that could go 55 or 56 and that is more to do with the reach, you can adjust bars and stem to suite.

What you do get out of a bike fit is the correct saddle height and position of saddle relative to crank BB and your general position on the bike... so that you are more efficient in pedaling and reduce wasted energy

I have used the retul bike setup and all I can say is it's helped me a lot. I am able to push out more power as my pedal stroke has become more efficient.

I also feel very confortable on the bike. I used to get knee pain, but that has now comple gone

thanks for that. like I said that was my only worry but if they can work around it then best I give cycle fit a call.

bugger nevermind its on the website

its on the website, but i replaced pedals, shoes and saddle in the fit, so price went up quite a bit

Just saying, don't walk in there expecting to spend only the R1400 odd for the fitment

Ive done the ErgoFit developed by sports science and it hasn't worked for me at all... consistently have pain in my lower back, my shoulders and after a 3hour plus ride my neck is so sore and stiff I might as well be wearing a neckbrace... also struggle with numbness in my toes within a few km of a ride. Its got so bad somedays I don't even want  to go ride for fear of the discomfort and pain.

Going to try Cycle Fit form Aaron Brown as soon as I have some free cash. Seems a lot more rounded and detailed from what I read on there website.

Can you advise who did your ErgoFiT?

That is where the money is. For sure you will have to buy something. Even if just a stem or wider bar... haha

Yup, that's how a lot of these guys work. It's not always necessary when they start the " you need better pedals, you need to upgrade saddle, you need et etc".

In your head you also feel better buying something. After all, if all your kit were fine, you would have not been there in the first place.
