Sunday 26th April, with the Monday (27th) and the Friday(1st May) being a public holiday, how many are going down to the coast for this race?

My leave has been approved for the 3 days which means i spend 10 days down in Durbz. Can't Wait.

Will be my 1st race in Soth Africa's "warmest city"

Glad it will have total road closures as with all Durban races.

Who else will be riding?

I haven't done this race since 2009 - think I may do it again (gives the wife an excuse to visit her sister in Pinetown again.

The full road closure, and relatively challenging climb up the M7 makes it a great ride (for me).
Plus, I have my fastest officially recorded speed going down the M19 - 103Km/h.

Bud, that elevation profile looks off.

It happens when the whole route hasn't been fully refreshed to to the highest definition. The only way to get it perfect is to zoom down to a low altitude and manually work your way along the whole route, allowing it all to be refreshed section by section.

Once you've done that you'll see the route profile smoothing out and looking a lot more accurate (incl. total elevation gain, etc).

I'm still trying to decide. Carrying a low-grade injury I can't shake and about 8 kg heavier than I was this time last year.

Definitely one of my favourite races though. If you want to experience the thrill of riding fast in big tight bunches, this is definitely the race.

Yeah agreed, shall redo it with an ultra close up zoom.

Lol, modern day technology, go figure.

Well Garmin Connect is close to Google Earth's 1241m.

Maybe someone who rode it last year can verify.

My data is from 2009 - route should still be much the same.
