Eugene - ride your bike 3 times a week. Enjoy every ride, ride some nice long distances if you can and make sure you train for the bar special stage held every evening...

Oh and remember to practice your wheelies and skids for the camera's

P.S. Make sure you are technically proficient on single track - many many riders do not do this and it has an impact on the rest of the field

doing the W2W for the first time this year .... my "Captain" in the team is quick on the ST and I would like to think I am too ...... so yes please, sharpen your ST skill set so that we can all have fun :)

MT, we have taken your bar advice to heart and have been training hard on it. To refine this skill set we make sure we do a mid ride beer stop on our way home on Fridays and then also the odd hot day, like yesterday, sitting on the beachfront near the end of the ride drinking an ice cold beer ...... just to make sure we are consistent and can take two days in a row, we will be stopping there again this evening on the way home.

If you not fit by now forget about it, its to late to train

Ja, you only have 7 months, 3 weeks, 6 days or more specifically 241 days before the first of the three events starts ...... certainly can't build up any fitness in 241 days.

Hairy: good to hear you have entered - which event? I am thinking I may have to punish the funds and make a sneaky entry happen...

With regards to bar training, your heart is in the right place. Application needs some work, which you may just be able to achieve in 241...er 240 days.

One needs to retain a balanced diet and always have fruit. Grapes are a fruit, you can do math right?

And in a pinch, with weight saving in mind, 'cause that's how we roll at the W2W, fortified fruit can always be kept on ones person in small hip sized quantities.

Last but not least - biltong! Because one needs protein to build muscle and it goes well with sunsets.
