Grogs Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Did it in 2013 - suffered, but loved it. This year I'm nowhere near as fit as I was in 2013, so definitely going to suffer. Whether I love it this weekend is going to be another matter ... still, looking forward to it.

To be honest, there is not much bunch riding, bunches split very quickly and lots of soloing home, so gearing for the climbs is much more important than the fast flats of which there is only some on the last stage of the Classique.

I hope I can stay with the group going down the hills. Im using 11-32 on compact crank cant say i use the 32 often, it came standard on my bike but i think it might come in handy up Long Tom Pass. If you worried about staying with the pace downhill then just go harder uphill and pull a gap so that they catch by the finish lineÂ

Grogs Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Managed OK with an 11-25 and compact crank in 2013 - this year have the compact with an 11-28 to accommodate for the lower fitness level   Â
